(SOUTH BEND, IN) - Ben Hansbrough scored a game-high 21 points and Tim Abromaitis added 19 as 15th-ranked Notre Dame edged number-nine Connecticut 73-70 at Purcell Pavilion.
Scott Martin finished with 13 points and Tyrone Nash added eleven as the Fighting Irish overcame the absence of starting forward Carleton Scott, who was sidelined with a hamstring injury.
Kemba Walker led the Huskies with 19 points, seeing his streak of eleven-straight games with 20 or more points come to an end.
Shabazz Napier added 18 as UConn falls to 11-2, 1-2 in the Big East.
The Irish improve to 13-2, 2-1 in the conference.
They host St. John's on Saturday night.
