(GOODYEAR, AZ) - Cincinnati Reds Manager Dusty Baker will shuffle his starting rotation after learning Johnny Cueto will miss the start of the season due to inflammation in his right shoulder.
Cueto left his last two spring training starts early due to soreness in his right arm.
An MRI revealed the inflammation, but no significant structural injury.
Cueto was scheduled to be the Reds' third starter behind Edinson Volquez and Bronson Arroyo with Homer Bailey, Travis Wood and Mike Leake battling for the final two spots.
Baker tentatively will adjust the top of the rotation with Volquez, Bailey and Arroyo followed by Wood and Leake.
Cueto went 12-7 last season with a team-high 138 strikeouts.
