(STORRS, CT) - The Purdue women’s basketball team saw firsthand why Connecticut is the number-one team in the nation.
Tiffany Hayes scored 23 points and Maya Moore added 16 as the Huskies pounded the Boilermakers 64-40 to reach the Sweet 16 of the NCAA tournament for the 18th-straight year.
It was Uconn's 22nd win in a row and their 83rd-straight victory at home.
No Boilermaker reached double figures as Drey Mingo led Purdue with nine points and Brittany Rayburn finished with eight.
Connecticut improves to 34-1 while the boilers end their season with a 21-12 mark.
