(INDIANAPOLIS, IN) - Defending class 4A champion Indianapolis North Central will be without its leading scorer when they face Pike in their IHSAA boys Basketball Regional Semifinal on Saturday against Pike.
D'Vauntes Smith-Rivera was suspended for one game for his actions in a fight at the end of the first half of North Central's sectional semifinal win over Lawrence North last Friday.
Smith-Rivera was cited for acting "in an inappropriate and unacceptable manner" in the fight between North Central's Tim Bass and Lawrence North's Michael Chandler.
Bass and Chandler were ejected from the game.
North Central Athletic Director Chuck Jones announced the suspension after administrators from both schools met with IHSAA Commissioner Bobby Cox.
