(ST. LOUIS, MO) - Purdue Head Basketball Coach Matt Painter reportedly will meet with University of Missouri officials regarding their vacant head coaching job.
The St. Louis Post Dispatch quotes sources saying Painter will meet with Missouri soon to gauge the school's commitment to the basketball program.
The Tigers are looking for a replacement for Mike Anderson, who left to take the Arkansas job last week.
Anderson had been offered a contract extension by Mizzou which included a raise to around two-million dollars per season.
Painter currently makes about 1.3 million dollars annually, including incentives, at Purdue.
Painter is a Muncie native who played for Gene Keady with the Boilermakers.
He replaced Keady as Purdue's head coach in 2007.
