(WEST LAFAYETTE, IN) - The NCAA has declined to grant Purdue wide receiver Keith Smith a sixth year of eligibility.
Smith applied for the extra season of eligibility after tearing the ACL and MCL in his right knee during the Boilermakers' second game last season a 31-21 win over Western Illinois.
Smith had surgery on October 18th.
He led the Big Ten with 91 receptions in the 2009 season and had 18 catches for 123 yards last year before suffering his season-ending injury.
