Short Handed Boilers Look To Avoid Upset Against Peacocks

Last updated on Friday, March 18, 2011

(CHICAGO, IL) - The Purdue Boilermakers face St. Peter’s college in their NCAA Tournament opener tonight in Chicago.

The Boilers are the number-three seed in the Southwest Region while the Peacocks are the 14 seed.

Purdue enters tournament play shorthanded following the suspension of backup point guard Kelsey Barlow earlier in the week.

Barlow will miss the entire tournament for conduct detrimental to the team.

Guard John Hart is hobbled by a foot injury but has been cleared to play.

St. Peters is the champion of the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference and has won three-straight games.

Purdue was knocked out of the Big Ten Tournament by Michigan State in the quarterfinals.
