(INDIANAPOLIS, IN) - Two drivers for Dreyer and Reinbold Racing suffered broken wrists in Sunday’s Izod IndyCar Series opener at St. Petersburg.
IndyCar Director of Medical Services Doctor Michael Olinger confirms that rookie Ana Beatriz fractured the scaphoid bone in her wrist and will have surgery today.
Teammate Justin Wilson suffered a small fracture of a wrist bone and will be fitted with a special carbon-fiber brace.
It is not known whether Beatriz will be able to race this weekend at Barber Motorsports Park in Birmingham while Wilson is expected to compete.
