(HOUSTON, TX) - Kyle Lohse pitched seven shutout innings as the St. Louis Cardinals survived some more shaky pitching from the bullpen in edging the Houston Astros 6-5.
Matt Holliday and Tyler Greene hit solo homers off Houston starter J.A. Happ and added four more in the seventh inning off the Astros' pen to take a 6-0 lead.
After Lohse departed, the St. Louis bullpen allowed three runs in the eighth and two in the ninth before Eduardo Sanchez struck out Hunter Pence with the tying run on second base to end the game.
Lohse improves to 4-1 while Happ takes the loss to fall to 1-4.
