(CHICAGO, IL) - The Chicago Cubs committed four errors and gave up four unearned runs in losing to the Colorado Rockies 5-3.
The Cubs jumped on Colorado starter Esmil Rogers in the bottom of the first as Darwin Barney hit a two-run homer and Alfonso Soriano added a sacrifice fly to give Chicago a 3-0 lead.
The Rockies tied the game in the second thanks to three errors by Cubs shortstop Starlin Castro that led to three unearned runs.
The Rockies scored twice more in the fifth with Chicago pitcher Matt Garza's throwing error leading to two more runs, one of which was earned.
Rogers got the win to improve to 3-1. Garza allowed all five Colorado runs and took the loss, dropping to 0-3.
