(HOUSTON, TX) - Bill Hall’s bases-loaded single with one out in the bottom of the ninth drove Michael Bourn home with the winning run as the Houston Astros got past the St. Louis Cardinals 6-5.
The Astros trailed 5-4 entering the bottom of the ninth before tying the game when Brian Bogusevic scored on a wild pitch from Cardinals closer Mitchell Boggs.
Bourne bunted and reached on a fielding error by Boggs before Angel Sanchez and Hunter Pence singled to load the bases.
Hunter Pence homered and Chris Johnson hit a two-run single earlier in the game for Houston.
St. Louis third baseman Daniel Descalso had a big game for the Redbirds with three extra-base hits and three runs batted in.
