(ST. LOUIS, MO) - Kyle Lohse fired a complete-game two-hitter as the St. Louis Cardinals blanked the Washington Nationals 5-0.
Matt Holliday got the Redbirds off to a good start, hitting a two-run home run off Nationals starter Tom Gorzelanny in the bottom of the first.
St. Louis scored three more runs in the eighth with Albert Pujols hitting a two-run blast and David Freese adding an RBI double.
That was more than enough for Lohse, who struck out six and walked two as he improves to 3-1.
Gorzelanny takes the loss to fall to 0-2.
