(INDIANAPOLIS, IN) - Activities surrounding the NCAA Women’s Basketball Final Four get underway today in downtown Indianapolis as the four teams and their fans are starting to arrive.
The first national semifinal on Sunday night pits Texas A&M and Stanford while game two features two-time defending national champion Connecticut and their Big East rival, Notre Dame.
While the Fighting Irish are the local favorites, there are two other participants with strong Indiana ties.
UConn forward Kelly Faris prepped at Heritage Christian High School in Indianapolis.
Stanford coach Tara Vanderveer played college basketball for Indiana University.
Notre Dame's roster includes 2009 Indiana Miss Basketball Skylar Diggins.
