(SAN DIEGO, CA) - The Cincinnati Reds spotted San Diego a 2-0 lead in the first before coming back to beat the Padres 3-2.
Edinson Volquez survived a shaky start to get the win.
The Reds starter gave up two runs in the first inning, one when he hit Ryan Ludwick with a pitch with the bases loaded and the other on a sacrifice fly by Brad Hawpe.
Cincinnati got a run back in the fourth on a solo home run by Jonny Gomes and they took the lead for good on Chris Heisey's two-run blast in the fifth off San Diego start Mat Latos.
The Reds bullpen gave up two hits over the final three innings with Francisco Cordero getting out of a jam in the ninth to pick up his second save.
Volquez improves to 2-0 while Latos falls to 0-1.
