The Bulls hold a two games to none lead as the series heads to Indianapolis for game three on Thursday night.
Indiana kept the game close throughout, but the Bulls made their final 16 free throws including six in the final 18 seconds.
Danny Granger led the pacers with 19 points with AJ Price adding 13 off the bench.
