(INDIANAPOLIS, IN) - Andretti Autosport’s struggles during qualifying have cost Senior Vice President of Competition Tom Anderson his job.
The Indianapolis Star reports that Anderson was let go after two of the team's five cars failed to qualify for Sunday's Indianapolis 500.
Ryan Hunter-Reay and Mike Conway failed to make the field while Marco Andretti and Danica Patrick did not get in until the final hours on bump day.
Only John Andretti, in a one-off effort, put an Andretti Autosport entry into the field on the first day of time trials.
Andretti Autosport also had problems in qualifying last year, Anderson's first as head of competition for the team.
