(CLEVELAND, OH) - The Cleveland Indians’ four-game winning streak is over as they lost to the Boston Red Sox 4-2.
Adrian Gonzalez gave Boston the lead for good with an RBI double in the third.
Jason Varitek gave the Red Sox some needed insurance when he hit a two-run homer off Indians starter Fausto Carmona in the seventh.
That was enough for Josh Beckett, who pitched into the seventh inning, allowing a run on five hits to improve to 4-1.
Carmona took the loss to fall to 3-5.
Travis Buck hit a solo homer for Cleveland in the ninth.
