(ST. LOUIS, MO) - Lance Berkman’s single with the bases loaded in the bottom of the ninth gave the St. Louis Cardinals a 2-1 win over the Philadelphia Phillies.
Cardinals starter Jaime Garcia allowed an unearned run over eight innings of work, but did not figure in the decision.
The Redbirds took a 1-0 lead in the fourth on Yadier Molina's RBI single.
The Phillies tied it in the eighth when Placido Polanco's sacrifice fly drove home Jimmy Rollins.
The Cardinals sweep the two-game series as the Phillies have lost four games in a row.
