(CINCINNATI, OH) - Jay Bruce’s RBI double capped Cincinnati’s three-run bottom of the ninth as the Reds rallied to beat the Houston Astros 3-2.
The Astros scored both of their runs in the third with RBI singles from Jason Bourgeois and Hunter Pence off reds starter Travis Wood.
Rookie Aneury Rodriguez and four relievers held Cincinnati scoreless until the ninth when the Astros brought in closer Brandon Lyon.
Lyon did not get a single batter out, allowing a walk to Drew Stubbs, a single to Chris Heisey, RBI singles to Joey Votto and Brandon Phillips and Bruce's game-winner.
