(INDIANAPOLIS, IN) - Butler has hired former Indiana University guard Michael Lewis to fill the opening on basketball coach Brad Stevens’ staff.
Lewis replaces Micah Shrewsberry, who left the Bulldogs to become an assistant coach on Matt Painter's staff at Purdue.
Lewis comes to Butler after spending the past six seasons as an assistant coach at Eastern Illinois with a three-week stop at Loyola in between.
Lewis was hired by new Ramblers coach Porter Moser on April 16th.
The Jasper native played for Bob Knight at IU, breaking Quinn Buckner's school record for career assists.
He began his coaching career as a graduate assistant for Knight at Texas Tech.
