(ST. LOUIS, MO) - Jake Westbrook outdueled Cliff Lee as the St. Louis cardinals halted their three-game losing streak with a 3-1 win over the Philadelphia Phillies.
Philadelphia took a 1-0 lead in the second on an RBI single from Ben Francisco.
The Redbirds took the lead for good in the fourth on run-scoring singles by Nick Punto and Ryan Theriot.
Jon Jay gave St. Louis an insurance run with an RBI single in the seventh.
Westbrook allowed a run on four hits over seven innings to even his record at 3-3.
Lee gave up all three Cardinals runs on six hits and a career-worst six walks in his six and-a-third innings of work to drop to 2-4.
Philadelphia has lost three games in a row.
