(SAN DIEGO, CA) - Daniel Descalso’s RBI single in the top of the eleventh inning gave the St. Louis Cardinals their fourth win in a row as they got past the San Diego Padres 3-2.
Lance Berkman gave St. Louis the early lead with an RBI single in the first, but Brad Hawpe responded with a two-run homer in the bottom of the frame to give the Padres a 2-1 lead.
That was the score in the seventh when Ryan Theriot's groundout scored Descalso from third.
Allen Craig led off the eleventh by drawing a walk off San Diego reliever Ernesto Frieri.
Craig stole second and scored on Descalso's two-out single to center.
The Padres have lost five straight.
