(ST. LOUIS, MO) - Rookie Daniel Descalso’s first major league home run gave the St. Louis Cardinals a 7-5 win over the Florida Marlins.
Matt Holliday put the Redbirds up 2-0 in the first when he homered off Florida starter Anibal Sanchez.
The Marlins took a 4-3 lead in the fourth on RBI singles from Greg Dobbs and John Buck before Colby Rasmus tied the score with a run-scoring single in the fifth.
Gaby Sanchez gave the Marlins a 5-4 lead with an RBI single in the top of the seventh, setting up Descalso's game-winner off Clay Hensley in the bottom of the inning.
