(LOS ANGELES, CA) - Andre Ethier extended his hitting streak to 28 games as the Los Angeles Dodgers beat the Chicago Cubs 5-2 in the opener of a three-game series at Dodger Stadium.
Jerry Sands had a two-run double and scored on Ethier's single that capped LA's three-run fifth inning.
Alfonso Soriano hit his major league-leading eleventh home run, a solo shot off Dodgers' starter Clayton Kershaw in the seventh inning.
Kershaw allowed two runs on eight hits to even his record at 3-3.
Chicago starter James Russell took the loss to drop to 1-4.
