(INDIANAPOLIS, IN) - Six of the seven participants passed all four phases of rookie orientation Thursday at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.
James Jakes is the only rookie who did not complete R.O.P.
Jakes will have to complete the fourth phase when the speedway opens for practice on Saturday.
J.R. Hildebrand turned in the fastest lap of the day at 221.533 miles per hour with Ho-Pin Tung also getting over 220 miles an hour.
James Hinchcliffe, Charlie Kimball, Pippa Mann and Scott Speed also passed their rookie tests and will be allowed to practice with the veterans when open practice begins Saturday afternoon.
