(INDIANAPOLIS, IN) - Andretti Autosport has worked out a deal to put Ryan Hunter-Reay in this Sunday’s Indianapolis 500.
Hunter-Reay will replace Bruno Junqueira in the number-41 car.
Junqueira drives a second car for AJ Foyt Enterprises and qualified 19th for Sunday's race.
Foyt tells The Indianapolis Star that he has been funding the team out of his own pocket.
Hunter-Reay was bumped by teammate Marco Andretti at the end of time trials on Sunday.
With the driver switch, Hunter-Reay will start 33rd in Sunday's race.
It is the second time in three years Junqueira has qualified for the Indy 500 and been replaced before race day.
He qualified in 2009 for Conquest Racing but was replaced by that team's lead driver Alex Tagliani, who had been bumped.
