(INDIANAPOLIS, IN) - The NFL owners meetings continue in Indianapolis.
League Commissioner Roger Goodell addressed the current lockout, saying time is running out before the league starts cancelling preseason games. The preseason is scheduled to start August 7th with the Hall of Fame game.
Goodell acknowledged that the league is being hurt by the lockout, noting a ratings decline in the television coverage of the NFL Draft as well as reduced ticket sales and a lack of traffic on the league's website. The lockout has been in effect since March 11th.
Movement in negotiations between the owners and players is not expected until the eighth circuit court of appeals rules on the legitimacy of the owners' lockout. Hearings are not scheduled to begin until the end of next week.
Colts Owner Jim Irsay says if a deal is not in place by the Fourth of July, the start of the regular season could be in jeopardy.
