(CHICAGO, IL) - Francisco Liriano threw the first no-hitter of the season as the Minnesota Twins blanked the Chicago White Sox 1-0.
Liriano threw 123 pitches, walking six and striking out two in picking up not only his first career no-hitter, but his first Major League complete game.
Jason Kubel accounted for Minnesota's offense, hitting a solo home run off Chicago starter Edwin Jackson in the fourth inning as the Twins snap a six-game losing streak.
Liriano improves to 2-4 while Jackson falls to 2-4.
