(INDIANAPOLIS, IN) The Rookie Orientation Program gets underway this morning at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.
There are four phases of evaluation as the drivers need to run five consistent laps between 200 and 205 miles per hour and then ten laps each at 205 to 210 miles per hour, 210 to 215 miles per hour and 215 miles per hour or more.
The drivers are expected to complete at least the first three phases before open practice begins on Saturday.
There are eight rookies entered for the May 29th Indianapolis 500, seven of whom are expected to participate in ROP.
