(NEWARK, NJ) - Purdue’s JaJuan Johnson was the only player from an Indiana school to be taken in the first round of last night’s draft.
Johnson was taken with the 27th pick by the New Jersey Nets and his rights were later traded to the Boston Celtics.
The second round saw Butler's Shelvin Mack go to the Washington Wizards with the 34th-overall pick.
Mack was a key figure in leading the Bulldogs to back-to-back appearances in the NCAA National Championship game.
Purdue's E'Twaun Moore will join Johnson in Boston as he was chosen by the Celtics with the 55th pick.
Among the state players who were not drafted are Butler's Matt Howard and Notre Dame's Ben Hansbrough and Carleton Scott.
