Nationals Edge White Sox, 2-1

Last updated on Monday, June 27, 2011

(CHICAGO, IL) - A pitchers duel on Chicago’s Southside ended with the Washington Nationals clipping the Chicago White Sox, 2-to-1.

36 year-old Livan Hernandez outdueled Chicago's Philip Humber, who notched his fourth loss of the season despite carrying a no-hitter into the sixth inning.

Humber's only mistake came in sixth, when a two-out walk was followed by a two-run homer by Danny Espinosa. Humber failed to pitch seven innings for the first time in seven starts and for the second time all season.

The Nationals are one of baseball's hottest teams and have won eight of their last ten games.

Davey Johnson takes over today as manager of the Nationals following the resignation of Jim Riggleman last week.
