NFL Players, Owners Meet In Minneapolis

Last updated on Wednesday, June 29, 2011

(MINNEAPOLIS, MN) - The two sides in the NFL lockout reportedly are talking again this week in the Minneapolis area.

ESPN reports that NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell and Players Association Executive Director Demaurice Smith met Tuesday without players or owners present.

The talks are expected to run through Friday, although Smith and Goodell will attend the league's rookie symposium today in Bradenton, Florida. There is no word as to who will be involved in the talks later this week.

This marks the fifth-consecutive week that the two sides have gathered for meetings as they try to finalize a deal on a new collective bargaining agreement.

The owners locked out the players when the old CBA expired in march.
