(CHICAGO, IL) - Wilson Betemit’s RBI single in the top of the eighth inning gave the Detroit Tigers a 5-4 victory over the Chicago White Sox.
The Sox jumped up 2-0 in the first on Adam Dunn's tenth home run of the season.
A Miguel Cabrera RBI single in the fourth pulled Detroit to within a run before the Tigers scored three runs in the sixth to take a 4-2 lead.
Paul Konerko tied the game for Chicago with a two-run blast in the sixth, his 24th of the season.
That set up Betemit's eventual game-winning single off Matt Thornton in the eighth.
With the win, Detroit takes a two-game lead over Cleveland for the lead in the AL Central.
