(ST. LOUIS, MO) - Justin Upton homered as the Arizona Diamondbacks defeated the St. Louis Cardinals 4-1.
Sean Burroughs put the D-Backs on the scoreboard with a sacrifice fly in the second inning.
That was all of the scoring until the sixth when Upton hit a two-run shot off Cardinals starter Kyle McClellan.
Immediately after Upton's home run, the game was halted by rain.
After a 50-minute delay, Matt Holliday drove home the lone St. Louis run with a double in the sixth.
Ryan Roberts gave Arizona an insurance run in the seventh with an RBI single.
Diamondbacks starter Joe Saunders pitched five shutout innings allowing just one hit to improve to 6-7.
McClellan took the loss to fall to 6-6.
