(CLEVELAND, OH) - Jared Weaver picked up his 14th win of the season as the Los Angeles Angels edged the Cleveland Indians 2-1.
The game was scoreless until the seventh when rookie Mark Trumbo hit a two-run double off Cleveland starter Josh Tomlin.
The Indians got a run back in the bottom of the seventh when Matt LaPorta hit a solo home run off weaver.
Cleveland loaded the bases in the bottom of the ninth with nobody out, but Angels closer Jordan Walden got LaPorta to ground into a 6-2-3 double play, cutting off the tying run at the plate.
Walden then struck out rookie Jason Kipnis to end the game and pick up his 24th save.
Weaver allowed a run on five hits over seven innings to move to 14-4.
Tomlin took the loss to drop to 11-5.
