(MILWAUKEE, WI) - Rickie Weeks’ three-run homer was the key blow as the Milwaukee Brewers held off the Cincinnati Reds 5-4.
Weeks' blast off Reds starter homer bailey was part of a four-run fifth that gave the Brewers a 5-2 lead.
Cincinnati chipped away with an RBI groundout from Jay Bruce in the eighth and a solo homer by Ramon Hernandez in the ninth, but Milwaukee closer John Axford got Brandon Phillips on a come backer with runners on first and third to end the game and pick up his 23rd save of the season.
Brewers starter Chris Narveson allowed two runs over six innings to get the win and move to 6-5.
Bailey took the loss to drop to 3-4.
