(CHICAGO, IL) - AJ Pierzynski scored the game-winning run with two out in the bottom of the ninth on an Aaron Crow’s balk as the Chicago White Sox edged the Kansas City Royals 5-4.
The Royals built a 3-0 lead on a two-run homer by Jeff Francoeur and an RBI single by Billy Butler.
The Sox got a run back in the fourth and another in the fifth on Ramon Castro's fourth home run in the fifth.
Chicago took a 4-3 lead in the eighth when Adam Dunn slammed a two-run shot off crow, but Eric Hosmer tied the game with a solo shot off Sox closer Sergio Santos in the ninth.
Pierzynski led off the bottom of the ninth with a single, advanced to second on a bunt and made it to third on a wild pitch by crow to set up the winning run.
