(ANDERSON, IN) - The Indianapolis Colts held their final night practice of training camp on Wednesday as they get ready for Saturday night’s preseason opener with the St. Louis Rams.
It was also the final scheduled practice in full pads for the Colts before they break training camp one week from today.
They will practice once this afternoon in shells and once Friday morning in shorts before heading to St. Louis for Saturday's game.
Ten Colts sat out Wednesday night's practice due to injury.
The most worry some is cornerback Jacob Lacey, who is sidelined by a sore Achilles.
Lacey and Justin Tryon are expected to compete for the starting job opposite Jarraud Powers with the loser of the battle being the third corner in the nickel defense.
The others sitting out last night's practice were defensive end Jamaal Anderson, tight end Brodie Eldridge, linebackers Cody Glenn and Ernie Sims, wide receivers Chris Brooks and Joe Horn, defensive tackle Demario Pressley and offensive guards Jamey Richard and Jamie Thomas.
