(INDIANAPOLIS, IN) - With concern mounting over Peyton Manning’s health, the Indianapolis Colts have signed veteran quarterback Kerry Collins.
Manning remains on the physically unable to perform list following neck surgery on May 23rd.
The current backups, Curtis Painter and Dan Orlovsky, have not performed well during a pair of preseason losses to St. Louis and Washington.
The 38-year-old Collins is entering his 17th NFL season.
He was originally drafted by the Carolina Panthers when current Colts' Vice Chairman Bill Polian was Carolina's general manager.
Collins has spent the past five seasons with the Tennessee Titans and announced his retirement last month.
