(BOSTON, MA) - Jacoby Ellsbury hit a game-winning RBI single with one out in the bottom of the ninth as the Boston Red Sox got past the Cleveland Indians 3-2.
Rookies Jason Kipnis and Lonnie Chisenhall homered to give Cleveland a 2-1 lead before Boston's Kevin Youkilis tied the game with a solo shot off Rafael Perez in the sixth.
In the ninth, Jason Varitek hit a one-out single and was replaced by Jarrod Saltalamacchia.
Saltalamacchia advanced to second on Josh Reddick's single and managed to beat Eziquiel Cabrera's throw to the plate on Ellsbury's game winner.
With the loss, the Indians fall three games behind first-place Detroit in the AL Central.
