(CHICAGO, IL) - Jason Heyward capped Atlanta’s five-run top of the fourth with a grand slam as the Braves held off the Chicago Cubs 5-4.
Alex Gonzalez drove in the first run for the Braves when he drew a bases-loaded walk off Chicago starter Casey Coleman. Heyward followed with his blast over the center field wall.
The Cubs scored all four of their runs in the bottom of the fifth with Alfonso Soriano hitting a solo homer off Braves starter Mike Minor and Aramis Ramirez hitting a two-run double.
Minor went five innings to get the win and improve to 4-2 while Coleman took the loss to drop to 2-6.
Craig Kimbrell picked up the save, his 40th of the year.
