(UNDATED) - In racing, the Indianapolis 500 will be televised by ABC through 2018.
The Indianapolis Motor Speedway announced Wednesday that they have agreed with the network on a six-year contract extension through the 2018 season.
As part of the deal, ABC and ESPN will carry four additional Izod IndyCar Series races each year. ABC has been broadcasting the Indianapolis 500 since 1965.
The Izod IndyCar Series races at New Hampshire Motor Speedway this weekend.
On-track activity begins with a 90-minute practice this morning and a three-hour session this afternoon.
The IndyCar Series cars are back on the track for two practice sessions Saturday before qualifying on Saturday afternoon.
The race is scheduled for Sunday afternoon.
The IndyCar Series has not raced at New Hampshire since 1998 when Tony Stewart was the winner.
The NASCAR Sprint Cup Series holds its second and final road course race of the season this weekend at Watkins Glen.
Two practice sessions are scheduled for Friday with qualifying getting underway on Saturday morning.
The race will take place on Sunday afternoon.
Juan Pablo Montoya is the defending race winner.
