(PHOENIX, AZ) - Danica Patrick has made it official, she is leaving the Izod IndyCar series to drive full-time in the NASCAR Nationwide Series in 2012.
Patrick says she will wait to see how next year's stock car schedule comes together before deciding if she will try to race in next year's Indianapolis 500 as a one-off.
Patrick has driven in the Nationwide Series for Dale Earnhardt Junior's team the past two seasons.
She will drive full-time for Junior Motorsports in 2012 as well as driving in eight to ten Sprint Cup Series races for Stewart-Haas Racing.
Stewart-Haas Racing is owned by former IndyCar series driver and Columbus, Indiana native Tony Stewart.
