(CINCINNATI, OH) - Jay Bruce it a two-run home run in the bottom of the eleventh inning to give the Cincinnati Reds an 8-6 victory over the Chicago Cubs.
The Cubs jumped on Reds Starter Homer Bailey in the top of the first with Carlos Pena and Marlon Byrd hitting two-run homers to give Chicago a 4-0 lead.
Brandon Phillips hit a solo homer in the third and Chris Heisey had a solo shot in the fourth as the Reds chipped away at the Cubs' lead.
Cincinnati would score three times in the fifth to take its first lead.
It was 6-4 Reds going to the top of the ninth when Chicago tied the game on Alfonso Soriano's RBI double and a run-scoring single from Darwin Barney.
Joey Votto led off the Reds' eleventh with a single off James Russell before Bruce hammered the first pitch he saw from Russell into the right field bullpen to end the game.
The Reds have won three straight while the Cubs have dropped three in a row.
