(INDIANAPOLIS, IN) - The Izod IndyCar Series has suspended a member of its safety team for two races following an incident at last Sunday’s Baltimore Grand Prix.
IndyCar declined to identify the crewman, who nearly created an accident at the start of the race when he pulled a safety truck into the first turn.
The safety team was readjusting tire barriers before the start of the race and the driver was supposed to move the truck to its station between turns two and four.
The crewman will miss the races at Motegi, Japan and Kentucky Speedway but will be reinstated for the season finale at Las Vegas.
