(ST. LOUIS, MO) - Kyle Lohse pitched six shutout innings as the St. Louis Cardinals beat the Milwaukee Brewers 4-2.
Lohse allowed four hits, walked three and struck out six to improve to 13-8.
John Jay hit a solo home run and drove in two with Matt Holliday also going deep with a solo shot as the Cardinals snapped Milwaukee's four-game winning streak.
Jonathan LuCroy had an RBI double in the eighth and Prince Fielder hit a run-scoring single in the ninth to account for the Brewers' offense.
Despite the setback, Milwaukee still holds a nine and-a-half game lead over the second-place Redbirds.
