(SOUTH BEND, IN) - Tommy Rees will get the start at quarterback Saturday when Notre Dame faces Michigan in Ann Arbor.
Fighting Irish Head Coach Brian Kelly announced the quarterback change during his weekly news conference on Tuesday.
Kelly benched Dayne Crist in favor of Rees at halftime of last Saturday's 23-20 loss to South Florida.
The Irish committed five turnovers, including a fumble that was returned 96 yards by USF early in the first quarter.
Notre Dame trailed 16-0 at intermission when Kelly made the change.
Rees, a sophomore, replaced Crist last season when Crist suffered a season-ending injury.
Rees led the Irish to four-straight wins including a Sun Bowl victory over the Miami Hurricanes last season.
