(SAN DIEGO, CA) - Alfonso Soriano hit a go-ahead three-run home run in the top of the eighth as the Chicago Cubs beat the San Diego Padres 6-2.
Kyle Blanks gave the Padres an early 2-0 lead with a two-run double off Cubs starter Matt Garza in the second.
Chicago got a run back in the fourth on Aramis Ramirez' 26th home run of the season.
The score remained 2-1 until the eighth when Soriano hit his go-ahead shot off San Diego reliever Chad Qualls.
Blake Dewitt gave the cubs a couple of insurance runs in the ninth with a two-run single as they snap a three-game losing streak.
Garza gets the win to even his record at 10-10 while Qualls takes the loss to fall to 6-8.
