Twins Snap Five Game Losing Streak With Win Over White Sox

(MINNEAPOLIS, MN) - The Minnesota Twins snapped a five-game skid by edging the Chicago White Sox 5-4.

The Twins took a 4-0 lead in the third on a two-run single by Danny Valencia and a two-run double by Chris Parmelee.

The White Sox got to within a run thanks to an RBI single by Paul Konerko and a sacrifice fly from Alex Rios in the fifth and a run-scoring double by Juan Pierre in the sixth.

Luke Hughes scored the eventual winning run in the sixth on a throwing error by Konerko.

The Sox got an RBI groundout from AJ Pierzynski in the eighth, but would not score again.

With the loss, Chicago falls nine games behind first-place Detroit in the AL Central.
