(MILWAUKEE, WI) - The Milwaukee Brewers took a 1-0 series lead in the NLCS by out-slugging the St. Louis Cardinals, 9-6.
Both starting pitchers had miserable evenings.
Jamie Garcia left the game after six innings.
He allowed six runs on six hits and three walks.
Zach Greinke earned his first win of the postseason even though he was also responsible for six runs in six innings.
Game two in the best-of-seven series is tonight in Milwaukee.
Shaun Marcum will start for the Brewers and the Cardinals will throw Edwin Jackson.
The Detroit Tigers and Texas Rangers were suppose to play game two yesterday.
The contest was rescheduled for this afternoon as rain washed out the Ballpark in Arlington.
The Rangers lead the American League Championship Series 1-0.
